A pity you didn't mention the breakdown of the six billion budget. 36% - the highest sum - was for 'management and staff overheads'. Some rake-off here, or do they pay banker type bonuses?

The suspicious side of your imagination is working overtime today, Pete. How many staff do you imagine they have - ten or 12? The TAT has a staff of thousands and maintains offices all over the world. Try to keep your feet on the ground in 2011, please. Why not make 'Evil Be to He Who Evil Thinks' your New Year motto.

No mincing, no suspicion Ed. Malaysia attracts almost double the tourists that Thailand does, plus a far greater number of Europeans. They just happen to produce much better TV and on-line advertising campaigns, probably with much lower overheads, whilst TAT is still on a learning curve in that regard. As for my imagination working overtime you're wrong: I try to deal out the facts and nowadays my feet are always on the ground since I retired. I will try my best not to argue in 2011 unless of course, you provoke me. New Year (motto) resolution? I give them up for Lent anyway.
Happy New Year.

I guess there will always be fans of Malaysia and fans of Thailand. If it was all about the ad campaigns, perhaps both of us would be in Malaysia . . . however, I find their ads stretch the imagination a bit far. The reality is somewhat different. Both countries still treat those at the bottom of the ladder appallingly. The first one to greet boatpeople properly will get my vote. Happy New Year . . . look forward to chatting with you in a lively fashion in 2011.
