THE BOY killed in the bridge motorcycle crash was aged six, Phuketwan learned on Wednesday. It's not clear whether he was steering or a front passenger.
PHUKET: A young motorcyclist was killed when the vehicle he was riding illegally crashed into the rear of a car parked on a landmark bridge between Phuket and Phang Nga to watch sunset tonight.
Many people park on Srisoonthorn Bridge to look at the view, said the driver of the white Krabi-registered Pajero, and there were no signs saying people could not stop to watch.
The two boys, both under 15 and with a motorcycle helmet in the front basket, smashed into the rear of the parked Pajero about 5.15pm, killing the rider instantly and leaving his passenger seriously injured.
The injured boy and his dead friend were both taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City.
Police on Phuket are contemplating whether there's a charge that can be laid against the parked motorist.
Scores of motorists stop on that bridge to take in the view and to save them the trouble of parking and then walking to the purpose-designed viewing platform in the middle of the old Sarasin Bridge.
Catching a sunset from the walkers-only Sarasin Bridge attracts many tourists.
If there are no signs saying "no parking" then I would think it's pretty difficult to charge the owner of the Pajero. If parents and police did their job then the two 15 year olds would not have been riding illegally. Maybe charge the parents for failure to control their underage kids ..... Or the police should charge themselves with failure to enforce traffic laws correctly.

The boys were under 15, as the article says - possibly 13 or even younger.
