PHUKET: Police on Phuket who sought victims of parkland butt-grabbers and jogger-abusers now know they are dealing with a gang of thieves accused of attempted murder and other assaults.
The five youths arrested early today in Phuket City have told officers at Phuket City Police Station that their gang consists of 10 people - and that they've been seriously bad.
By this afternoon police had rounded up seven of the 10 and in the process, learned that the gang had:
..snatched two cartons of cigarettes from a Family Mart in Maeluan Road, Phuket City
..stabbed a Burmese man as he sat by the road in front of T2 Pub on Surin Circle
..committed several other assaults
In response to an appeal for victims to come forward, Phuket City police had interviewed seven people by late today.
More were expected to identify the gang as being responsible for crimes that went beyond the hooliganism - butt grabbing, jogger abuse and putting trash cans on the heads of cleaners - the underage gang had initially been accused of committing.
