Phuket's old Sarasin Bridge - or at least the old bridge that Phuket shares with the neighboring province of Phang Nga - is already attracting sightseers.
It's already evident that this tourist gem will become a new symbol for the Phuket region.
Now that a new bridge carries the traffic off the island, Sarasin has a role as a walking link, topped by a graceful sala and definitely on the list of Phuket experiences.
Sunsets must be pretty good from here. Local food stalls are already appearing on both sides.
Workers are still applying the finishing touches, with a narrow ladder their path to the sala.
Phuket's new ''Bridge of Dreams'' is expected to be complete by August 30.
Rumor has it the streets on the southern end of the Bridge of Dreams are paved with gold. I wouldn't be one to disagree.
