High-end Phuket luxury: a Sunseeker Manhattan 60 goes for a spin

Phuket's Anantara Buys/Tries a Little Runabout

Monday, November 2, 2009
FOR THOSE people with their noses pressed to a computer screen or taking a break from teaching to catch up with Phuket events, here's the enticing sunny-day dream email from Marion Walsh, Group Director of Public Relations, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.

Anantara, part of Thailand's large Minor International group led by William Heinecke, recently announced plans to expand into India.

''I wanted to share with you that we have a beautiful new yacht located at Anantara Phuket Resort & Spa.

''The Minor Affair, a Sunseeker Manhattan 60 offers personalised cruising options for up to eight guests. Unfortunately I have not personally tested it out yet (I'll update you once I have!!), but some of the options that struck me as interesting included the cruise between Anantara Si Kao (south of Krabi) and Anantara Phuket, or visa versa.

''You can imagine a few days relaxing in Si Kao and then taking a day or multiple day cruise between the two resorts . . . fishing, diving, exploring the wonderful limestone islands that are dotted along the coast, or simply relaxing and getting away from it all . . . I'm sure we could arrange to have your Blackberry chauffeur-driven to the resort so that you can cruise in peace!

''Of course, every step of the trip can be personalised, private Chef, finding unique and quiet diving locations around the Similan islands or Burma Banks. Somebody even mentioned to me that there is great surfing in the area!

''What can I say, the options are limitless.

''As always, just drop me a note if you need more information.

''Kind regards,

''Marion.''

Thanks, Marion. We found one Sunseeker Manhattan 60 for sale online for 1.1 million Euros, as well as a healthy debate about the merits of putting granite tiles on board.

The sun is shining out there. Send us some tickets, please.

This is by far and away the worst article I have ever read since using Phuket Wan. Complete and utter drivel.

Emubob, you must be very new to Phuketwan, then! I'm mighty surprised that the Editor didn't come down on you like his usual ton of bricks for any criticism!
