Tony was a retired science teacher who came to Phuket and became a popular DJ and rock musician, singing at the Blues Festival. He was also founder of the Andaman Players.
The Phuket-based acting ensemble is due to perform on Friday night at Mom Tri's Kitchen at Villa Royale. Tributes are expected to pour in for a man wth many attributes.
Phil Teese, a former managing editor at the Phuket Post newspaper, said: ''Tony went back to Britain for treatment last month.
''He wrote for me at the Phuket Post, (and assumed my role after my departure), he was a DJ on 91.5FM, he was the founder of the Andaman Players acting ensemble, and he was loved by everyone who met him.''
Paul Norris sent a message to 91.5FM members on Facebook: ''Dear friends, it is with great sadness that a good friend to many and one of the presenters of the 'Sunday Timewarp' show on 91.5 fm has sadly passed away.
''Tony loved his music both playing live, and also in the stuios of 91.5 fm, his passion for music was to say the least 'energetic' .... often seen playing his air guitar/drums in the studio!
''A great guy who will be missed ,,,, always the life and soul of the party was Tony. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
''Rest in peace, djt.''
