FC PHUKET has a new coach, a former Thailand national player, and seven new team members to complete the squad for Division One matches which begin next month.

The new coach, Surachi Jirasirichot, is in that role for the first time, but he comes highly recommended by former coach and now consultant Ajarn Songsamssub.

Most of the new players are likely to be on show when the Phuket squad of 18 does battle for the first time this coming weekend in benefit matches for stricken player Camara Ahmed.

The Ivory Coast import collapsed on-field with a heart attack at Phuket City's Surakul Stadium and is gradually recovering. His dream, to see FC Phuket graduate from Second Division to First, was achieved.

Benefit matches are scheduled for 4pm Friday when Phuket, Phang Nga Surat Thani and Krabi will play, with tickets at 20 baht and 50 baht. On Sunday, the winners of the round-robin play off.

On January 25 Muangtong United will play FC Phuket at 6pm with tickets at 50 baht 100 baht.

Finalising the lineup of FC Phuket's squad at Surakul last night, the Hulk's new coach introduced seven more new players: Thais Eakasit Srisai, Niran Phantong, Pronprom Jaroonpong and Tameti Hayeeyuso will be joined by Ivory Coast pair Cone Andama and Coulibaly Abdoul, plus an import from Brazil, Paulo Renato Sizino.

FC Phuket has a 25 million baht budget and a new VIP coach to take the team around Thailand from mid-February.
