It's looking that some volunteers, Thais and foreigners alike like to join local Police and Tourist Police to show they are good boy to the Thai Authorities in order to have free hand to run illegal businesses. Posted by Whistle-Blower on May 20, 2013 13:07 Editor Comment: There is no evidence of that happening among the expat community, Whistle-Blower. To suggest it on the basis of this single case is unfair and you really should apologise for saying it. There is also no suggestion that the man with the gun has any kind of illegal business. I am tired of people who let their imaginations run wild, with no evidence. (moderated) Posted by Stephen on May 20, 2013 14:15 Editor Comment: RISING LEVELS of intolerance in Phuketwan's Comments section have led to a new editorial policy. Comments that fail to comply with normal standards of civility will no longer be published. 'We've given the stirrers a fair go,' said the editor. 'It's a pity their bile knows no limits.' All readers remain invited to add personal insights, fresh ideas and new information. It came to me as no surprise you would not have the guts to publish that because your comment to WB proves you like to tell everyone else how to eat their porridge but don't apply the same standards to yourself. Posted by Stephen on May 20, 2013 14:35 Editor Comment: I really don't have time for your constant whining, Stephen. If the US embassy has a problem, they will be in touch. We stand by our initial report. Meanwhile, I suggest you find some new fixation. (moderated) Posted by Stephen on May 20, 2013 16:56 Editor Comment: There's no need to read my lips, Stephen, just the text. " And I will continue to have the final say " Posted by Stephen on May 20, 2013 17:14 Editor Comment: Thanks, Stephen. if volunteers are carrying pistols illegally it can be a rough town Posted by slickmelb on May 21, 2013 00:16 |

A volunteer district officer. In the absence of an increase in police numbers, the governor and the district directors each have a volunteer force.
