A RUSSIAN woman tourist says she was the victim of a run-and-ride bag snatch in the beach road at Karon today.
Valeriya Verbitskaya, 23, told Chalong police that she was walking along the road near the Karon tsunami tower about 11am when two men on a motorcycle pulled up.
The pillion passenger jumped off, grabbed her shoulder bag, jumped back on the motorcycle, and the men sped off, she told police.
In her bag was 400 baht and a digital camera.
She arrived on Phuket on September 25 and is staying at the Sugar Palm Resort in Kata until October 7.
One man wore a white shirt, the other wore a black shirt, and the Honda Click motorcycle sped off in the direction of Patong, she said.
The stretch of road in Karon was the scene of an incident earlier this year in which a young Swedish tourist had her wrist slashed when an attacker grabbed her shoulder bag.
