PHUKET: An American tourist has died in his room at a five-star Phuket beach resort in what police are attributing to a heart attack.
The man, aged 60, was found dead in his room at the unspecified resort in southern Patong, close to Rat-U-Tit 200 Pi Road, about 7.20pm last night.
Staff at the resort told police that the man was a regular visitor. A quantity of heart medications were found in his room, an officer said.
Phuketwan has been supplied with the man's name but is withholding it from publication until US Embassy officials have contacted the man's family.
