Amway to Phuket or the Highway

THE month-long Amway gathering at Laguna Phuket for 15,000 is likely to open doors to an increasing number of events as China's love affair with Phuket blossoms.
Delegates are coming from all over China, with several hundred Amway event staff also coming from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

They will travel on private charter flights and Amway's Phuket ground handler is currently working with the Phuket Provincial Government on ways it can ease the flow of Amway guests into Phuket International Airport.

Amway delegates, event staff and external contractors will stay at all seven Laguna Phuket hotels. Amway VIPs will stay at Banyan Tree, with the delegates spread across Angsana, Dusit Thani and Laguna Beach Resort.

Chinese chefs are being brought out from mainland China, restaurant menus have been translated into Mandarin and several hundred Mandarin-speaking university students from Phuket and beyond will be temporarily employed by Laguna to help facilitate the event. Laguna staff have also been offered free Mandarin lessons leading up to this event.
