TWO FRENCHMEN and four Thais on a fishing trip in a longtail are being brought back to shore by Marine Police after an SOS early today.
The large longtail Blue Shark left Kamala about noon yesterday and about 1.30am, Marine Police were alerted to the boat's predicament.
Marine Police Colonel Panlop Pungpaka told Phuketwan that the engine on the longtail failed to function about midnight.
He said that fortunately, there was a gps on the boat so the location, 18 miles out to sea, was known.
Marine Police vessel T524 came alongside the longtail about 7.30am to find all on board safe. The six on board were expected back in Kamala about noon today.
