PHUKET: Laguna Phuket will host the Thai holiday island's largest corporate gathering when it welcomes more than 15,000 representatives of Amway China for the direct sales company's annual month-long leadership seminar during April and May.
Amway China delegates will arrive and depart on Phuket in waves throughout the four weeks to experience a rolling program of dinners, business sessions, and sight-seeing based activities at the destination resort of seven deluxe hotel and villa properties on Phuket's northwest coast.
More than 600 delegates will arrive daily from April 15 until May 15 and depart four days later - once the program is underway there will be around 1800 Amway China delegates and staff each day at Laguna Phuket.
Laguna Phuket was selected to host this major event for its ability to combine the resources of its diverse hotel properties, its integrated resort facilities and proximity to Phuket International Airport.
The resort's flagship Banyan Tree Phuket will accommodate Amway China VIPs and officials, while delegate accommodation will be spread between Angsana Laguna Phuket, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket and Laguna Beach Resort.
Special preparations include tapping the culinary resources of Banyan Tree properties in mainland China to ensure that Amway China delegates' dining demands will be fully satisfied.
During the month there will be 21 grand buffet dinners each hosting around 750 delegates at the central Laguna Grove venue, overlooking one of the resort's tropical lagoons, where entertainment will be staged on a floating platform.
Catering for the gala Phuket dinners will be shared by Angsana Laguna Phuket, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket and Laguna Beach Resort under the direction of specially-imported Chinese chefs and the entertainment will be provided by Chinese artistes.
But in addition to enjoying Chinese home comforts, delegates will be encouraged to enjoy Laguna Phuket's dining, beach, spa, golf and recreation facilities, and to discover what Phuket itself has to offer on a variety of local excursions.
