PHUKET: A man said to be armed with a bomb tried to rob a bank in Phuket City this afternoon, say reports coming to Phuketwan.
The attempted robbery took place at the Kasikorn Bank in Phuket City, opposite the Thavorn Grand Hotel and diagonally opposite the popular Uptown restaurant, according to police.
The man, aged 30, hired a motorcycle taxi to go to the bank from a nearby restaurant close to 3.30pm. By the time the man reached the bank, it had closed for the day, early reports say.
The man showed his bomb to bank staff on the other side of the locked door, but did not get in.
The would-be robber rode off on a Yamaha Scoopy I motorcycle that had been parked outside.

Assuming they don't know his name, how do they know he's thirty? Did he announce "Sawadee krup, I'm a 30-year-old bank robber. Hand over all the money or I'll detonate this fake bomb!"
