Phuket Police Nab Guide With Drugs at Chalong Temple

Friday, November 30, 2012
PHUKET: A Korean guide has been arrested by Phuket police and accused of possessing 50.1 grams of marijuana.

Park Jome Heumg, 53, is also likely to also be charged with overstaying a visa and working illegally as a guide.

He was arrested yesterday about 1.30pm at Chalong temple after being kept under surveillance by police.

Mr Park met a group of four tourists on Sunday and escorted them around for several days.

When confronted by officers at the temple yesterday, Mr Park seemed extremely nervous. Police found the drugs in a search of the mini-van.

Mr Park told police he bought the marijuana for 1000 baht from a Thai dealer in Patong.
