Eakachai Auyapita, 36, of the Laguna Nightclub in Rawai, was taken to Chalong Police Station in southern Phuket and granted bail of 30,000 baht.
The raid came about 12.30am today when officials visited Laguna. Earlier, the officials raided Mr Pan's Art Space Gallery and Bar in Karon.
The premises were the subject of a letter of complaint to the Interior Ministry in March last year, and the Ministry recently asked the Damrungtam office what it had done about pursuing the complaint.
Owner Niwat Baowtong said he had been running the business as a gallery for about 12 years, but last year decided to add some folk music.
Khun Niwat said he only played music when there were customers in the gallery/bar, and last night, when officials called about 11.30pm, there were no customers.
Khun Niwat said he had had a visit from Karon municipality asking him to pay a ''tax,'' which he figured was a corrupt payment. He turned them down flat and said he believed the complaint was a result.
At last starting to do something about Rawai, you would not believe how many people driving around drunk at 5 or 6 in the morning.
And as reported here a few deaths on Viset Road from motorcycle accidents early hours of the morning.
