DIANA Goh Li Fun, a Singaporean accused of ordering the killing of a Canadian property developer in Patong last year, has been granted bail from Phuket Jail.
Ms Goh declined to comment when contacted by Phuketwan today.
She was freed on April 7, having spent the period since her arrest in March last year in the island's overcrowded prison. Under the terms of her temporary release, Ms Goh, 33, will reappear in court on July 13.
Phuketwan has established that her application for bail was approved on appeal to the Supreme Court in Bangkok. It is believed she is still living on Phuket.
Back in March last year, Ms Goh lined up at Kathu police station with six others accused of helping her carry out the killing, including alleged hitmen Somchai Mingjaiyen, 29, and Suwan Simet, 32.
She told police that the property developer, Francis Alex Degioanni, had borrowed a large amount of money from her, then pretended that he owed her nothing.
Because she was broke and he refused to repay the money, she borrowed 1.5 million baht from a friend in Singapore to have him murdered, police allege.
Mr Degioanni was gunned down outside his Patong office-home on February 19.
Police said they cracked the case by sifting through records from resorts and hotels on the island until they uncovered the movements of the alleged killers. Seccurity camera footage was used, too.
