PHUKET: Two Swedes charged with the murder of a third Swede are likely to learn the verdicts of judges in their respective cases next month or soon after.
Tommy Viktor Soderlund and Johan Sebastian Ljung faced separate trials for the murder of Maksim Schantz in 2011 when Mr Soderlund opted to plead not guilty while Mr Ljung pleaded guilty.
However, each was required to give evidence in the other's case, leading to them both appearing in Phuket Provincial Court yesterday.
An interview that is likely to finalise the hearing of evidence of the case against Mr Soderlund was postponed until Monday.
Mr Ljung is likely to be sentenced when he next appears in Phuket Provincial Court on January 24.
The pair allegedly followed Mr Schantz to Phuket when a business partnership went sour. Mr Schantz was stabbed in the throat - by accident, both men say - when he resisted being restrained.
