Phuket FC Flies High As Fever Lays Low Players

Saturday, September 8, 2012
PHUKET: Two Phuket FC players were briefly in hospital this week, handicapping well-laid plans for the team's continuing success in Division One today.

This evening's next assignment is an away rematch against Airforce United in Bangkok, a chance for rapidly-improving Phuket to move up from tenth position on the ladder.

However, two players who would possibly otherwise have been in Phuket's team were brought down with seasonal fever this week.

Kittituch Kraitong and Alonso Jose Carvalho Da Silva spend a night in Bangkok Hospital Phuket in Phuket City and were not considered for selection.

Coach Rong ''Noi'' Ajanyoot, riding high on a string of competitive results, will be hoping that the fired up Phuket side can turn the 3-3 home draw against Airforce United into an away victory.

''I'm pleased with the way the team is going,'' he said. ''We continue to overcome changes in the side and perform well on the pitch.''

Watcharakorn Klaithin and Kampol Pathom-akkakul are the likely replacements in the Phuket side today.

Airforce United are two positions about Phuket on the ladder but the positions could be different by tonight.

One factor could be the Bangkok weather. Downpours have restricted Phuket's training time this week and more deluges could make the rematch another slip-sliding affair.
