PHUKET: The cremation ceremony for Swiss man Francois Richard Leppert, who is thought to have killed himself over a broken romance, is to be held on Phuket tomorrow.
A brother and a sister of the 54-year-old expat resident have arrived on Phuket for the ceremony.
Brother Patrick said that he was not keen to see Karnjana Sonkeaw, 35, who lived with Francois for almost a year before leaving him for another expat.
Desperately missing his lover, Mr Leppert sent about 80 text messages and made many telephone calls, which were unanswered until Mr Leppert hinted that he was going to kill himself.
When Khun Karnjana eventually did respond and went to see Mr Leppert, he had stabbed himself. Photographs taken at the house the couple shared show him still holding the knife.
Early on August 6 he had tried to call again and once more received a ''Missed Call'' message. He followed up with a text message: ''Teerak - can't stop loving you - wish you all the best - you are the woman of my dreams - good by.''
Tomorrow's ceremony takes place at Rawai Temple.
