PHUKET police have arrested two Malaysians and a Singaporean and accused them of dealing methamphetamine (yah ice and yah ba) in the island's tourist centre of Patong.
The men were arrested at 7.20pm on Tuesday at a hotel in Patong after two Thai women were nabbed earlier that evening.
The women, Wanna Sananmeug, 22, and Saisunee Papier, 36, were arrested in Rat-U-Tit-200-Pi Road when an undercover policeman asked them for yah ice.
Back at Kathu Police Station, the women were asked where the drugs had come from. Police say that acting on information from the women, officers arrested Malaysians Muhamud Pinabu, 35, and Musibin Chamahud, 39, with Singaporean Remacasman Rajenclan, 31, at an unnamed Patong hotel soon after.
Police say they took possession of 4.5 gm of yah ice and 50 yah ba pills.
The men are being held in cells at Phuket Provincial Court in Phuket City pending a hearing about whether they should be granted bail.
In an unrelated case, police at a checkpoint outside the Ramada Hotel in Karon, the beach destination south of Patong, pulled over a taxi to question the driver and a passenger about 9pm on Wednesday. The passenger, Salim Suroor Khamis, 23, from the United Arab Emirates, was allegedly found to be in possession of 0.6 grm of cocaine.
He told police he had paid 3000 baht to buy the drug from a Thai with a Rastafarian hairstyle at the Freedom Bar in Karon.
Mr Khamis is also awaiting a hearing in the cells at Phuket Provinical Court.
