PHUKET drugs courier Thosapol Maneepakorn preferred carrying methamphetamine to selling it because the life was easier. But after being nabbed in possession of a large quantity of ya bah last night, he may not be so sure today.
Police at a checkpoint in the Kuku area of Phuket City arrested the 21-year-old about 11pm last night and found 1500 tablets plus 0.66 grams of ya ice in his shoulder bag.
He said he had been telephoned by ''Khun Bang'' and told to pick up the drugs from a spot near Niwit Circle, in downtown Phuket City central. He was on his way to leave the drugs at a spot near Kuku.
Khun Thosapol told police that it was the third time he had been engaged as a courier, and the first two times he had been paid 10,000 baht per Phuket delivery.
As a seller, he had previously earned 38,000 baht for a 200 tablet batch of ya bah, he told police.
Khun Thosapol was presented to media today by Phuket City officers, including Phuket Police Commander Major General Pekad Tantipong.
