PHUKET: A parked vehicle belonging to a Patong taxi driver burst into flames early today - and he believes the fire was started by a rival.
Officers from Kathu Police Station, which oversees Patong, are investigating arson as the cause of the blaze, which badly damaged the black Isuzu.
Owner Sukawimon Deatdamrong, 41, said that he had been parking the vehicle in Patong's Phrabaramee Road for about three nights.
About 12,40am today, residents reported that the taxi was in flames. Investigators found the lid of a diesel bottle near the scene.
They will be questioning a suspect whose name has been provided to them.
