The bus rolled back and crushed a car on Patong's only road north

Phuket Bus Rolls Backwards, Crushing Car and Blocking Patong Road North Indefinitely

Sunday, February 22, 2015
PHUKET: A tourist bus rolled back out of a Phuket resort tonight, crushing a car and blocking the Patong coast road to Kalim indefinitely.

The crash came about 9.30pm when the bus appeared to lose power going into the Centara Blue Marine Resort and Spa.

It rolled back across the coast road out of control, crashing and crushing a white saloon with red plates.

An earlier crash on Patong Hill took hours to clear and police were not speculating about how long it could take for the bus and the car to be cleared from the main road north of Patong to Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao and other beaches.

It is believed there were no injuries.

Could it be brake failure?

Only just finished commenting on the Patong hill bus crash and now another one on a hill in Patong happens.

As per my other post, does anyone care enough to do anything about the standard of Maintenance and driver skills?

Looks unlikely.......

Ha!... I love Phuket! Just day after day after day, whacky stuff just keeps on coming. Lemme guess what the quote from the driver will be..."the bus suddenly wasn't able to climb the ridiculously steep and poorly designed driveway, and the brakes would not stop it and, and...it was just that everything went wrong with everything around me!" Then the police will conclude (after their "investigation") that the Burmese women and children workers made a crappy driveway. "We will raid their work camp tomorrow looking for bad workers so we can deport them". I'm glad nobody was hurt.

It was just the brakes due to loose 'power'. No fault or mistake. And we never will hear what really happened.

The brakes failed or it was raining pitiful excuses don't cut it, this is a no maintenances issue again
veh has lost all vacuum to power assisted brakes and power assisted steering in short he instantly had neither, all control lost the frequent cause is a snapped fan belt which should have been long replaced experience tells us
