PHUKET: It was a shocking scene for a Sunday on Phuket. The bus had come to a stop on top of a motorcycle.
And there were the legs protruding from beneath the bus. Was this another death to add to the Phuket road toll (even though officials no longer reveal how large or small it is)?
Or would it be a surviving victim, maimed like so many hundreds of others because of the lack of safe public transport on Phuket?
As it turned out, the fears of the Phuketwan photographer who was quickly on the scene of this crash in Phuket City's Samkong district did not materialise.
Within seconds, the man under the bus emerged, unscathed, with a story to tell to anyone who will listen this week about his lucky escape.
Unfortunately on Phuket, there are not that many lucky escapes.
A hit-run took place at 11.30pm in Chalong when a motorcyclist had his legs broken by a saloon that kept on going.

Protographer needs to be careful being quickly on the scene they will blame him
for the accident if a farang and looks he like may a dollar.
Great news the motorcyclist emerged ok.
