The 300,000 baht blaze sends smoke high over Patong today

Phuket Blaze Casts 300,000 Baht Pall Over Patong

Thursday, July 26, 2012
PHUKET: A blaze at a warehouse in the foothills of Patong cast a cloud of black smoke high into the air over Phuket this afternoon.

People could see the smoke from a great distance.

The fire was noticed about 12.30pm at a warehouse where motorcycle and car parts are stored in Hasip Pee Road, Patong.

Five firetrucks from Patong attended the blaze and took about 20 minutes to extenguish it. Nobody was injured.

Firemen estimated the damage at 300,000 baht. An electrical fault has been blamed.

Today's blaze followed another in southern Phuket yesterday that razed part of a Burmese workers' camp and caused about 200,000 baht in damage.

I saw this smoke all the way from the top of the hill between Patong and Kathu. Crazy!

2 fires because of bad electrical installation.
Possible...
Just yesterday I inspected a building where I found the switchboard with all main fuses attached to a dry plywood board....Amazing Thailand !
