The robbers picked the OK Healthcare store in Pisit Koranee Road and made their heist at 4.30am.
There was not a great deal of planning and the pair were arrested just alongside the store, in the apartment where they lived, about 30 minutes later.
The men used a plastic gun in the latest raid but had earlier used knives in holdups at the Bangla Pharmacy at 2.30pm yesterday and at JJ Hall Mart at 2.10am on 2.10am on January 21.
Hatsadin Ardsririon waved the plastic gun while Jetsada Peachkeaw rode a second motorcycle and acted as lookout.
The bandits escaped with 6000 baht from the first robbery and 12,000 baht from today's heist but fled empty-handed from the Bangla Pharmacy because a sales attendant screamed for help.
Officers at Kathu Police Station were still questioning the pair today. Just over 12,000 baht in cash had been recovered.
I think most shops have security tills or deposit their days takings in the banks as clearly they are not carrying much cash. The larger banks have ATM deposit machines 24 hours and good for the shops as it deters crime like this that often leads to unintended violence. 6000Baht is not worth going to jail for probably two years but I know it is very hard for some locals with the dwindling tourist numbers but this is not eh answer. Staff must be terrified and probably do not know if the gun is real or not. Fake guns should have red tips so everyone knows. Apart from Russians and Chinese who don't spend like Europeans what tourists are left. Go to Kata beach and you will only hear Russian on many days! The Jewel of little Moscow (prev Andaman)
