PHUKET: Guarded by heavily-armed Phuket police, accused assassin's accomplice Noppadol Plaisri took part today in a reenactment of the murder of a Phuket journalist.
Meanwhile, a hunt is continuing for Sanya Kianchoom, the man who is believed to have fired the gun, and for the pair's paymaster, a man so far known only as Khun Boy.
Police still believe the killing was masterminded by someone who had a reason to silence Wisut ''Ae'' Tangwittayaporn. As editor of 'Inside Phuket,' Khun Ae had written about corruption in property deals along Phuket's coast.
Khun Noppadol was flown back to Phuket by helicopter yesterday, at first denying then conceding that his role in Thursday's main street murder on Phuket was as the getaway rider.
Police have discovered that Khun Noppadol was a close friend of Khun Boy.
Khun Boy worked in the Phuket office of the Rubber Replanting Aid Fund, and the fund provided housing for Khun Boy at Koh Sireh, east of Phuket City, near the mangrove monkey park.
Khun Noppadol has now admitted spying on the home of Khun Ae in Phuket City, near the main SuperCheap store, then riding the motorcycle out to cut off Khun Ae's Honda Jazz as he and his wife left home.
After the killing, the pair dumped their clothes into a canal near Khun Boy's house in Koh Sireh. Khun Boy rode off on the motorcycle Khun Noppadol had hired from Patong for the killing, and dumped it into a lagoon in Phuket City, just a few kilometres from the murder scene.
Khun Noppadol said he spent the night after the killing at Khun Boy's house before heading north to Cha-Am, where he gave himself up on learning that police were looking for him.
Police are continuing their hunt for Khun Sanya, the alleged killer, and Khun Boy, the alleged paymaster, in the belief that someone else ordered and paid for the killing.
The murder weapon has yet to be recovered.
