Wait for Crash Report Continues
A SOURCE in the Department of Civil Aviation says the official report on the One-Two-Go crash on Phuket in September, 2007, is still being scrutinised in Bangkok.
However, it could be passed on to the Minister of Transport in its final form as early as May, Phuketwan has been told.
Meanwhile, it is understood that court-ordered negotiations between various parties in dispute over the crash are continuing.
Budget carrier One-Two-Go was recently added to a list of airlines banned from operating in Europe, although it has no flights operating there.
The DCA source says this is often the procedure where a carrier rents its aircraft.
One-Two-Go resumed flying on the Bangkok-Phuket route in December after meeting DCA requirements on safety and pilot training.
The airline had initially been suspended for 30 days, but that was extended three times.
The crash on September 16, 2007, killed 90 passengers and crew and left many of the 40 survivors injured.
Pilot error in a savage squall has been blamed for the crash of the MD-80 aircraft in attempting a scheduled landing at Phuket International Airport.
