Patong Gunman Holds Up Family Mart, Flees with 23,000 Baht

Monday, May 7, 2012
PHUKET: A gun-wielding bandit escaped with 23,000 baht in a daring pre-dawn raid on a Patong Family Mart convenience store yesterday.

There were no other customers in the shop when the bandit, wearing a motorcycle helmet and orange gloves, pulled a gun on the two women staff in the store about 5am.

The bandit fled the store in Phisit Koranee Road by jumping on a motorcycle and speeding off with the cash. The women, aged 23 and 20, were intereviewed at length by investigating Patong police.

Officers are checking to see whether security camera footage captured clues to the bandit's identity.

'Daring' is not the word I would use. Try 'Cowardly' for someone wielding a gun on 2 women working honestly.
