Patong beach lounge and umbrella supervisor Tawit Siritakan, 42, had just dropped his children at school and was driving through the Poonpon district in Phuket City about 7.10am when a motorcycle arrived unexpectedly in from of his vehicle.
Khun Tawit swerved, hit one, two, three other vehicles, and barrelled on across the footpath.
Waiting beside her motorcycle to meet a friend was a young woman who leaped to safety just in time. Her motorcycle was mounted by the runaway Vigo and rammed into the fashion shop beneath it.
The whole neighborhood was shaken but nobody was hurt. Even the plate glass window of the Super Fashion shop was unbroken.
Shop owner Jirana Maikeaw said she thought it would take about three months, though, to restore the shop.
