MARK KENT succeeds Asif Ahmad as British Ambassador to Thailand from July. Mr Kent has been studying the Thai language - a prerequisite for the job - for about a year in Thailand. Mr Ahmad, highly regarded, is being transferred to another Diplomatic Service appointment.
