PHUKET: A Chinese honeymooner whose bag was snatched by teenage thieves on Phuket last night was delighted to have her property and its valuable cash contents returned within minutes.
Patrol police on a motorcycle traced the pair of snatchers soon after 9.30pm and found them lurking several hundred metres along the same Phuket City road where the theft took place.
The officers cut off the Honda Scoopi and captured the rider while the passenger fled, leaving behind the victim's bag.
Honeymooner Zho Qin, 26, was thrilled to get back the two credit cards, $HK4000, 2445 yuan and 12,490 baht in cash.
Police held one underage offender and said they knew the identity of the second teen, who was unlikely to stay on the loose for long.
The snatch took place in Chana Charoen Road, not far from the Uptown restaurant. Fortunately, Zho Qin memorised the motorcycle's number and quickly called police.
