Nine-year-old Nattawan Hanchang is one of them.
She was in Vachira Phuket Hospital today, still sore and suffering from head injuries. One person remains in a serious condition in intensive care at the Phuket City hospital.
Visiting the injured today was Supasak Pokaboot, a former chief and council leader of the village of Thung Maphrao in Phang Nga, where all the victims came from.
''It's distressing to have the driver of the bus blamed when the fault lay entirely with the driver of the BMW,'' Khun Supasak said. ''He was a 'black' taxi driver, making trips between Phuket and Khao Lak,. transferring tourists.
''He had his Thai girlfriend in the car when the crash took place.
''It will be years before our village recovers from this. Most of the vicitms were related.''
Four people have been allowed to leave hospital and 20 more were in hospitals on Phuket, today at Vachira Phuket Hospital, at Phuket International Hospital and Bangkok Hospital Phuket, and at three hospitals in Phang Nga.
The group had gone to a house in Kata, a beach resort on the west coast of Phuket, to mourn a relative at a private home. They were heading home to the village when the crash occurred in rain.
Khun Supasak said: ''Some of the people who came on the bus managed to get rides in cars back to Phang Nga. As it turned out, they chose wisely.''
It is believed all of the dead were adult men. The illegal taxi clipped the bus as it overtook it, sending the bus into a tree and overturning it, spilling out passengers about 9.40pm on Saturday.
The identity of a sixth person, who police said collapsed and died at the scene of the crash on viewing the havoc, is not known.

Most Thai funerals are sober affairs.
