The officials include police and military personnel, local administrative officials and volunteers. The team has begun their week-long operation ending 26 December 2014, targeting all crimes against lives and property.
Their objective is to keep Phuket in peace and order, free from drugs and crimes.
They are authorised to arrest anyone with guns, war weapons, or explosive materials, as well as illegal immigrants. They will also make sure entertainment venues open no later than the designated time.
The patrol is part of the joint efforts by the Interior Ministry and the National Police Office to ensure security for tourists and Thais who are traveling back to their hometowns during the long holidays.
Not only to control drugs and crimes in the areas, the 353 staff is also assigned to keep Phuket in peace and order with high level of security of life and property.
Does this mean that all the entertainment venues at Patak Road Chalong ( under umbrella of Chalong police station) which are normally open until sunrise now also have to close at official designated times? But how than to feed the families?
