PHUKET: A VIP bus travelling from Bangkok to Phuket ran off the road in wet weather north of Phuket, demolishing a power pole and leaving two passengers injured early today.
The crash about 4am left the double-decker bus tipped on a 45-degree angle and brought Provincial Electrical Authority workers in Phang Nga, north of Phuket, to the scene to render powerlines safe.
Police at Tabpud, near the crash scene, said it was fortunate that more people were not hurt. They believe the driver fell asleep or took a curve too fast in rain.
The injured were taken to Phang Nga Hospital.
