PHUKET: A man travelling on a British passport was found dead in the bath at a boutique resort on Phuket last night.
Police in Patong were called to Baan Yin Dee Resort, south of the popular west coast destination, about 11pm last night.
They found a 33-year-old man dead, lying on his side in a large bathtub. He had been due to check out of the resort yesterday.
''We can't give you more information,'' an officer told Phuketwan today. ''Better ask the embassy because we've reported to the embassy already.''
A mobile telephone, pain-killing tablets and a bottle of water were placed on the side of the bath. There appeared to have been no disturbance in the room.
First indications after a medical examination were that the man may have had a heart attack and drowned.
Phuketwan has a name but will not publish it until relatives have been notified. The British honorary consul on Phuket had not been told of the death until Phuketwan called today.
The man, travelling alone, arrived on Phuket on March 23. His body was taken to Patong Hospital.
