UPDATE British Expat Found Dead on Phuket Was Popular Yachtie

A BRITISH man found dead at home in Rawai, southern Phuket, has been identified as David Cummins, a popular figure in Phuket's sailing community. Mr Cummins, from London, had been living in Phuket for five years. Police say the death appeared to be from natural causes but relatives may call for an autopsy.

PHUKET: The body of a British expat was found dead by his Thai wife at a house in Rawai last night.

The woman found the man, aged 55, slumped at a table as if he was asleep.

Ambulancemen, called about 11,30pm, attended the house in Saiyluan Road could not revive the man.

Offers from Chalong Police Station said the man did not have a chronic illness but had told his wife he did not feel well.

Phuketwan has the man's name but will not publish it until relatives have been informed.

His body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital.
