Is it the delivery of some forgotten goods that may have the interest of the public, or is the sensation that a tuk-tuk driver can be honest?

Editor Comment:

Honest taxi driver stories cheer the hearts of travellers around the world. Phuket has plenty of them.

Love em or hate em its good to see some drivers are trying to buck the trend and create a better image for their profession. Credit where credit is due.

I have been in Phuket for over two months now, and i would like to share my experience with the taxi and tuk-tuk drivers.

Despite all the bad publicity about them, i personally feel that the majority of them are just trying to make a clean living. I have used their services and find that they are just normal people making a living by fetching people around.

I have also seen the bad side of tourists, bargaining the prices of the rides, ripping the drivers out and some extreme cases, not paying the agreed amount when reaching the destination.

There's always two sides to a story. This chap was honest enough to return a expensive camera which if he had kept it and sold it off, could mean a big fat "bonus" for him.

Kudos!

Phuket isn't Patong. Tuk tuks in Phuket aren't like in Patong (maybe because in Patong many come from outside Phuket??) Thais in Phuket aren't like in Patong.. So there are many difference people here, like every country.
