BRITISH citizens and royal watchers from all around the globe will be turning out tomorrow evening to watch the Royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
The closest person Phuket has to British Royalty, honorary consul Martin Carpenter, has had many invitations and will not be able to attend all of them.
It's a dilemma for many. The Lounge, Phuket's newest sports bar and restaurant, has chosen tomorrow night to open at Bang Tao.
But will the Australian Football League contest between Carlton and Sydney be on-screen, or will the Big Royal Match at Westminster Abbey take pride of place?
Billions of people around the world are expected to be tuning in to see The Dress and catch a glimpse of The Happy Couple, much as they did back in 1981 when Prince William's mother, Princess Diana, wed Prince Charles.
''Along with all Britons on Phuket and everyone who delights in such occasions, I wish Prince William and Kate Middleton a fantastic day and a wonderful life together,'' Mr Carpenter said.
''I am pleased to see there are special events on all over Phuket to celebrate the wedding. I have been invited to many, and I really do wish I could attend them all.''
Cable and public television in Thailand is expected to be saturated with coverage of the wedding from early morning on Friday.
