PHUKET: Police have been issued with a warrant today for the arrest of a woman from Phang Nga province, north of Phuket, over the discovery of radio-controlled bomb-making material in a Bangkok apartment.
An arrest warrant has also been issued for a man who at one stage occupied the rooms in the Mimuna Apartment in Bangkok's Meauburi district.
The woman has been named as Wanna Sonsan, 27. She comes from Kuraburi, a fishing port that has also been a centre in the past for human trafficking.
Her family have told police that she was now in Turkey and had not been home for three months.
They had previously kept in touch by email and social media.
Police said they found radio-controlled remote vehicles capable of carry explosives in the apartment.
One man has already been arrested over the eerawan Shrine bomb on August 17 that killed 20 people and injured 120. Thirty-six people are still in hospitals.
For the first time today, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha said that the bombing ''may be'' connected to the return of a group of Uighur refugees earlier this year to China against their will. The Uighurs wanted to go to Turkey.
