Sunday, October 3, 2010
UPDATE

POLICE named the man as Graham Nicholas Jackson

Original Report

AN AUSTRALIAN was found dead in a room at a guesthouse in the Nanai area of Patong yesterday. It is believed he had been dead for several days.

Sanong Pimphan, 40, who occupied the next-door room, noticed a bad smell about 10.30am and told the management, who called police.

Officers who entered the room found the man, aged 54, in bed under a sheet. He was wearing a t-shirt and boxer shorts. Some medication was found nearby. Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances.

The television and the air-conditioning were both switched on, police said. Phuketwan has the man's name but is withholding the information until relatives have been notified.
