PHUKET: AN Australian tourist flew home last night after being involved in a motorcycle crash in Patong and paying compensation to a man injured by the sliding motorcycle.
The 28-year-old delayed his trip home by 24 hours because of a series of mediation negotiations handled by Patong police. The mediation resulted in the tourist paying 50,000 baht in compensation to a man who suffered a fractured skull.
The Australian lost control of his motorcycle in Patong early one morning last week. The motorcycle hit a bystander, injuring him and putting him in Patong Hospital.
Although the tourist told police he could not remember the incident, he accepted the word of onlookers that it was the motorcycle he was riding that injured the man.

Dear Ed, is that a joke or did you find out the story on a cartoon book? How is it possible that the tourist could say, "I don't remember about the accident"! Was him drunk?
