PHUKET: Police have found a small armory of weapons and a bulletproof vest in their hunt for the killers of a local politician, gunned down this month north of Phuket.
Police across Phang Nga, Phuket's neighboring province, raided a warehouse in Natoey, a rubber sales exchange and a home-office connected with village chief Ratthana Damton.
Khun Ratthana has yet to be questioned in connection with the killing.
The raids were over an investigation into the assassination of Deputy Mayor Suthorn Soithong, 42, in broad daylight on November 10 at a pub in Khok Khloy.
In raids today, police confiscated a 9mm shotgun, .357 and .45 handguns, two 11mm guns and about 95 rounds, as well as a bulletproof jacket.
