PHUKET: Want to get married on Phuket for Valentine's Day next year? Fancy watching the sun go down on your single life? Phuket needs you.
A total of 108 couples are expected to get hitched on Phuket's iconic Cape Promthep in what's tipped to be Thailand's biggest international wedding group.
Giving the brides away metaphorically speaking will be a private organisation, Suanluang Wedding and Studio, which aims to bring couples from all over the world to Phuket for the three-day celebration.
Full details are to be announced next month, but so far planning allows for up to 10 couples from any one country.
Great interest is expected from Korea and China while organisers also hope to attract people from France, the US and Malaysia.
The celebrations will begin with a getting-to-know-you party - not for the bride and groom but for the couples - at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa on February 12, followed by a tour of Phuket on February 13.
About noon on the Big Day, couples will have a spa and a beauty makeover before the ceremony begins at 3pm, and goes through until sunset.
On February 15, there's the chance to spend a post-wedding day on Koh Racha - if the couples are free, that is.
Interested tour operators should contact Kusol Thanangpol on +66 (0) 85 6543614.
