PHUKET: A Phuket property investor who filled in part of a canal to claim a little more real estate is to blame for Phuket's own version of ''Niagara Falls,'' say locals.

They say any construction on the land would be undermined every time there was a heavy downpour on Phuket.

''Niagara Falls'' sit on the Patong-Kamala Road in Kalim. So far there are no takers for construction on the property.

More rain this week is predicted to keep the unnatural feature flowing. So far the property's owner has not volunteered to go over it.
