Built at a cost of a billion baht, the 17-storey, 154 room five-star is now for sale by ACAP, which purchased the property from the Dhilok Group.
The reserve price is set at 420 million baht.
It's an unusual offering for Phuket because a massage shop alongside the Thavorn Grand is also up for sale. That establishment of a spacious 112 rooms is for sale at 60 million baht.
The hotel occupies 5.2 rai while the massage centre stands on two rai. Bidders have been able to apply to buy both titles, or put up separate offers.
The Dhilok Group's Thavorn Hotel and Resort arm still owns the Thavorn Beach Village, the Thavorn Palm Beach and the Nakalay Spa on Phuket.
Please don't hold us in suspense. Tell us who won the jackpot or is that a secret or it didn't make reserve? The knock shop next door seems better value at 30 mill per rai for inner city land.
