Phuket's economy could use a little stimulus pumping

Phuket's Economy in Question: IBAP May 15

Tuesday, May 12, 2009
Phuketwan EconomyWATCH

TELL US all about your pain and your suffering. Where does it hurt? Are you getting any sleep? Can you look yourself in the mirror in the mornings?

An economic downturn is the ideal time for cosmetic surgery and a new life in some other galaxy.

But if you happen to be stuck on Planet Phuket, then perhaps the IBAP Economic Summit can become a source of solace.

The gathering takes place from 7pm on May 15 in Patong, with the general theme of ''World Economy, Phuket Economy.''

Sandwiched in between the Phuket 'Endless Summer' Summit and the Asean Plus Six summit, it just might prove equally significant for some.

A panel from the new and the old media worlds has been assembled to take questions in advance by email, (a new media thing).

The best of the questions will be answered on the night, along with any that happen to come from people in the audience.

More about IBAP (International Business Association of Phuket) and the May 15 meeting is available from adrian@bd-asia.com

Meanwhile, if you have a question, fire it away in the Comment box below and we'll get back with an answer from the appropriate expert.

Please make sure you specify the person to whom the question is intended.
