PHUKET: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is to hold ''the 17th Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2015'' from June to August in seven main tourist provinces, according to Executive Director of the Tourism Investment Department Wiboon Nimitrwanich.
Mr.Wiboon revealed that 2015 is the year of ''Discover Thainess'' campaign which the government has launched to boost tourism in the country.
Each month, special activities will be held and one of them for June to August is ''the 17th Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2015''.
Seven provinces in which the event will take place are Pattaya (Chonburi), Chiang Mai, Phuket, Hat Yai (Songkhla), Hua Hin (Prachuap Khiri Khan), Udon Thani and the capital city Bangkok which will host the event during June 11-14 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
''We hope to boost public spending in tourism including foods, products and services. At the same time, the event can position Thailand as the center for trade and tourism in ASEAN,'' said Mr.Wiboon.
The 17th Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2015 provides comprehensive categories of products and services in tourism industry.
Visitors can buy or book tour packages at a discout price of up to 80 percent during the four-day event.
Around 80,000 visitors, or 10 percent higher than the previous year, are expected to attend the event and create around 120 million baht of income.
