About 50 long-stay package holidays of five days or more on and around Phuket are to be auctioned online on February 1, with the money all going to Queensland flood victims.
The Sydney office of the Tourism Association of Thailand has coordinated the auction, with the help of the Phuket TAT and the Phuket Tourism Association.
TAT Phuket regional director Bangornrat Shinaprayoon said contributions from other resorts were welcome up to January 28.
Australians, who were the first tourists to return to Phuket and the Andaman region in 2005 after the tsunami, continue to enjoy Phuket holidays, with 300,00 to 400,000 coming each year.
